The epic rivalry between India and Pakistan got off to an exciting start in the Asia Cup 2023, with the Men in Blue getting off to a cautious start against the rampant Pakistani bowling attack. However, after the game resumed, ace speedster Shaheen Afridi rattled India with two massive blows, dismissing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in quick succession. While Kohli was played on off a casual length delivery, Sharma was castled by a magnificent delivery. 

After opting to bat first, India had a watchful start, as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill negotiated the new ball spell of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah. But unfortunately, the well-poised game was soon halted by a passing shower, with rain playing spoilsport. After the game resumed, Afridi capitalised on the seam-friendly conditions, bamboozling Sharma with a dream delivery that came back into him to shatter the off stump.

As if this wasn't enough, the experienced left-arm pacer jolted India with another massive blow, getting rid of Virat Kohli with a good length delivery in his next over. 

Riding on Afridi's sensational opening spell, Pakistan have reduced India to 42 for two in 8.5 overs, with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer batting on 1* and 13*, respectively.
