Mohammed Shami Beats Starc To 200 ODI Wickets; Becomes Fastest In The World

India are playing their first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium against Bangladesh. In what has panned out as an exiciting clash, Mohammed Shami has led the Indian bowling putting them on the front foot in the game.

Notably, Bangaldesh won the toss for the game and opted to bat first. Shami struck early in the game picking up Soumya Sarkar in the very first over. He followed this up with the wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz soon.

Bangladesh were reeling at 35/5 at one stage. However, after this Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy struck together a stellar partnership and brought Bangladesh back into the game. It was Shami who broke the partnershi as he got rid off Jaker Ali.

Shami Tumbles Down Multiple Records

As Shami picked up the wicket he conpleted his 200 ODI wickets. He broke a few records as he achieved the feat. Shami became the fastest to get to 200 ODI wicket in terms of deliveries - 

Besides becoming the fastest to 200 ODI wickets in terms of deliveries, Shami also became the join second fastes to the feat in terms of matches - 

As the list suggests, Mohammed Shami is the fastest Indian bowler to get to 200 ODI wickets. He beat the former Indian pace bowler and current Indian Cheif Selector, Ajit Agakar to the feat. Agarkar picked up 200 ODI wickets in 133 ODI matches.
