Teja Nidamanuru took one of the most outrageous catches in the World Cup 2023 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, during the Netherlands’ ongoing clash against India on Sunday.
The Dutch international, in the process, ended a brilliant knock of Shubman Gill, who departed after a blazing 32-ball 51.

After deciding to bat, Gill and Rohit Sharma set the stage on fire at Chinnaswamy. Then, during the 12th over, against all odds, Paul van Meekeren’s scorching bouncer clocked at 143.2 kph, getting the better of Gill, who went for a hook but failed to get the elevation right.
Placed at deep fine leg, Nidamanuru timed his jump perfectly and clung on to a superb catch just ahead of the boundary rope.
The entire stadium was in pin-drop silence for a while after Gill’s dismissal. However, they did not take much time to erupt, as Virat Kohli, their home lad who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore, began to walk in the middle to join Rohit Sharma.
