India-born Hobart Hurricanes star Nikhil Chaudhary took Pakistani international Haris Rauf to the cleaners in their recent BBL 2023-24 faceoff at the Bellerive Oval.

Chaudhary belted Rauf for a four and six during the death overs of the Hurricanes innings, as they surged to 155 upfront after being put into bat first by Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell.

Nikhil Chaudhary, in only his third match for Hobart Hurricanes, pumped out 32 runs from just 16 balls during the death overs of the innings against Melbourne Stars. The 27-year-old arrived to the crease following the sudden dismissals of Caleb Jewell and Tim David at the end of the 13th over.

After smacking Pakistan cricketer Usama Mir for quick boundaries, Chaudhary set his eyes on another ‘Men in Green’ bowler the following over, this time flaying Haris Rauf with 10 runs from two balls to up the Hurricanes scoring rate.

Remarkably, the six he launched off Rauf landed over backward point after the speedster had gone for a wide yorker.

Nikhil Chaudhary joined the Hobart Hurricanes franchise for the BBL 2023-24 season earlier this year after playing grade cricket in Brisbane.

The off-spinner commenced his cricketing journey in India back in 2017 by representing Punjab in a handful of Ranji Trophy and Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament matches.

Regardless, his batting effort propelled Hobart Hurricanes to a competitive 155 in their must-win home game against Stars, as they seek to jump up the BBL 2023-24 points table towards the business end of the league stage.
