During the India vs Australia Boxing Day Test, while Australia gained the upper hand ahead of Lunch, the Baggy Greens also had a moment that led them to criticize their fielding. The Aussie fielders made a rare and costly blunder of a double overthrow and Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal were quick to take advantage of the situation, racing for two runs after both overthrows.

This little drama went down on the second ball of the 34th over. The subtle 'Pakistani reflection' on the clueless double overthrow initiated when Australian pacer Scott Boland threw the ball at the stumps but missed, allowing Pant and Jaiswal to sneak in a single run.

However, things went south for the Aussies when Sam Konstas tried another throw that also missed, leading to yet another overthrow. This mistake let Pant and Jaiswal grab a quick second run.

While overthrows happen from time to time, a double overthrow is a pretty rare mix-up that fans and pundits are likely to remember. It even drew parallels to some similar errors by Pakistan in recent matches, where shoddy fielding led to extra runs.

Pant, Jaiswal Keep Hopes Alive For India Ahead Of Tea

However, this whole double overthrow incident could've been avoided with a bit more fielding awareness, but the slip-up was not that much costly which will fill up the huge chase India is left with for the day.

At the time of writing, Yashasvi Jaiswal ticks off his half-century while Rishabh Pant is offering him stability at the other end. The duo seems pretty strong for now as they partner up to push India past the 100-run mark. Meanwhile, in the Aussie camp, the skipper, Pat Cummins, dismissed Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul earlier in the day while Mitchell Starc got the better of Virat Kohli, leaving fans disheartened.
