[Watch] Trent Boult Delights MI Fans With 2 Wickets Maiden On His SA20 Debut

The contest in the first match of the SA20 2025 is heating up as MI Cape Town are changing the game's momentum on its head against the Sunrisers. After setting a competitive total, MICT have started brilliantly, powered by a rocking opening spell by Trent Boult.

Notably, Aiden Markram won the toss ahead of the game and put MICT to bat. Though the visitors did not get off to a brilliant start, Dewald Brevis rescued the team from pressure. The talented right-handed batter blasted the SEC bowlers to all parts of the ground and played a sparkling knock of 57 runs from 29 deliveries. It was his innings that got Cape Town over the 170 mark. At the end of their 20 overs, MICT posted 174/7.

Boult Strikes Twice With The New Ball

The target on the board was already challenging, but it was made look tougher by brilliant Trent Boult. The Kiwi pacer struck twice in the third over of the second innings and put the Sunrisers on the back foot. 

On the fifth delivery of the over, the left-arm pacer accounted for Zak Crawley by disturbing the future behind him. He followed this up with a brilliant reflex catch on his follow-through to see the back of Tom Abell on the very next delivery. Crawley and Abell are known for their aggressive attitude and could have taken the game away from the Sunrisers if they had been left alone for a few overs. 

The brilliant start provided by Boult will not only delight the MICT fans but also relieve the MI management. Notably, during the IPL 2025 auction, Trent Boult was bought by MIT's sister franchise in India for ₹12.50 Cr. Seeing his performance in this game, they will be relieved that it was an investment that promises good returns.
