As per the latest developments KL Rahul is to be rested for the upcoming England white ball series. India will be playing three ODIs and five T20Is against England starting from late January. As the reports suggest that India will be looking to play the series without their star wicketkeeper-batter, KL Rahul.
Notably, KL Rahul looked in a good touch during the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy. Even though he did not finish the series as the highest run scorer for the team, he looked technically the most correct amongst the Indian batters. Given that he has endured a long Test series, KL Rahul might just have been rested for the upcoming series to manage his work load.
KL Rahul Has Opted Out Of The Vijay Hazare Trophy
In order to keep his body in good shape and get enough rest, KL Rahul has also opted out of the ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It might have been a request from the part of the player to recover from the long Test season.
The reports that have come out have also suggested that he will be a part of the India squad that travels for the ICC Champions Trophy. Rahul besides his keeping skills brings about great dynamism and flexibility in the batting line-up. There was little doubt that India would drop him for the marquee event. Even though rumours were going about that India might look beyond Rahul, given the overall utility of the player it was never going to be realised.
