Continuing their dream run, MI New York defeated Texas Super Kings by a comprehensive six-wicket margin in the Challenger of the inaugural Major League Cricket in the United States. Chasing 159, MI hunted down the target with an over to spare, thanks to blistering knocks from Dewald Brevis and Tim David. While Brevis remained unbeaten on 41, David hammered a quick-fire 20-ball 33, including four monstrous sixes off famed TSK spinner Mohammad Mohsin. 

TSK skipper Faf du Plessis turned up to Mohsin to bowl the 16th over when MI New York needed 53 off the last five overs to win the match. The bowler had a disastrous start to the over, as Tim David smacked him for a massive six, bringing the equation down to 47 off 29. 

The swashbuckling finisher continued his onslaught on the finger spinner, whacking him for two more sixes in the same over and making the chase a cakewalk for his side.

Although David got out immediately after hitting the third six, his heroic cameo was priceless for MI New York, as they eventually chased the total in 19 overs. Up next, they will take on Seattle Orcas in the tournament final on July 31 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, Dallas.
