The buzz surrounding the final T20I between India and West Indies reached its peak when young sensation Tilak Varma, who is in sensational form in his debut international series, walked onto the field amidst early setbacks for India.

Varma lit up the pitch with a majestic shot off Holder

The Men in Blue had a shaky start, with the promising pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill being dismissed earlier than expected as opposed to their fireworks in the last game.

This set the stage for Varma to anchor the innings, and he didn't disappoint by starting on a stunning note and dispatching Alzarri Joseph for three boundaries and six in the final over of the powerplay.

However, the highlight of Varma's innings came during an over by West Indies all-rounder, Jason Holder. The lanky pacer tried to unsettle Varma with a half-volley on the off-stump, hoping for a mistake.

Instead, Varma displayed a masterclass in timing and technique. With a sublime drive, he sent the ball sailing high and handsome over the long-off boundary for a magnificent six.

That shot wasn't just about the runs – it was a statement of intent and class. As the ball disappeared into the stands, the stadium erupted, acknowledging the talent of the young southpaw.

Yet, every hero has his nemesis. Windies spinner, Roston Chase with his clever flighted delivery, managed to create a rare error in Varma's approach. What followed was nothing short of brilliant, as Chase pulled off a stunning one-handed catch, bringing Varma's scintillating innings to an end at 27 runs from just 18 balls.

At the time of writing this article, the Windies are in control of the chase after the powerplay overs, answering India's target of 165 runs strongly.
