Theekshana's catch to dismiss Shakib [X]

Maheesh Theekshana grabbed arguably the catch of the tournament as Shakib Al Hasan's poor run for Bangladesh continued.

With the match almost in Bangladesh's kitty, Shakib Al Hasan only had to stay till the end to ensure a smooth victory, but the left-handed batter failed to deliver the goods once again as the match went down to the wires.

Matheesha Pathira bowled a shorter delivery outside the off as Shakib went for the upper cut. The fielder at deep third (Theekshana) was perfectly placed as he runs forward and keeps his eyes on the ball. The Lankan fielder puts in a brilliant dive and grabbed the ball inches above the ground.

The umpires had a close-check, but it was confirmed that Theekshana had taken a stunning catch to stun Shakib and Bangladesh.

Talking about the match, Bangladesh made a mess of the simple chase, but eventually scrapped past the winning line with 2-wickets in hand. Sri Lanka kept on picking wickets at regular intervals, but the batters led them down as the Lankan Lions have lost two games in a row.

Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain was declared the Player of the Match for his scintillating bowling efforts.
