The first Test between West Indies and South Africa kicked off with a remarkable performance from the Temba Bavuma-led team. The captain's exceptional knock of 86 runs in 182 balls set the tone for the match.

Bavuma's impressive knock, which included seven boundaries and one maximum, was complemented by the stellar performances of Tony de Zorzi and Kyle Verreynne. Their collective efforts enabled the Proteas Men to set a formidable score of 357 against the Men in Maroon in their first innings.

South Africa started the day with just two wickets in hand and a total of 340; however, the WI bowlers, with their skill and precision, swiftly cleaned up the remaining two wicskets of the tail-enders, bringing a close to SA's first innings for 357 all-out within the first 30 minutes of play. 

Although Temba Bavuma was the clear knight in shining armour for South Africa, Warrican was the chief destroyer for Kraigg Brathwaite and Co, who finished with the final figures of 4/69 from 22 overs bowled.

West Indies in reply have lost a wicket however are determined against their opposition as they stand tall at 53 after 27 overs.
