Swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav emerged as one of the rare shining lights for Mumbai Indians as he fought like a lone warrior during their eleventh group-stage IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Chasing a moderate total of 170 runs, Mumbai Indians fell like a pack of cards, with big names like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan surrendering before KKR's rampant bowling attack

However, amidst the turmoil, SKY stood rock-solid, playing a valiant knock under tremendous pressure.

While the batter hammered several glorious shots, one of his sixes released the pressure off MI, coming at a crucial juncture of the match.

The incident took place during the twelfth over of MI's innings when they were tottering in the middle, with six batters making their way back to the dugout.

After dismissing MI skipper Hardik Pandya, ace KKR all-rounder Andre Russell sprayed one down the leg side as Surya clobbered it nonchalantly for a massive six over the square leg boundary.

Surya's effortless six induced a sense of fear among the KKR cheerleaders as the batter has a reputation of winning matches single-handedly for his side.

As of writing, MI were in a spot of bother, placed at 110 for six, with Surya and Tim David batting in the middle.
