[Watch] Sunil Narine's Failed One-Handed Flying Effort For A Catch In CPL 2024; Pollard Applauds

Sunil Narine is a legend of T20 cricket and along with his accurate bowling, his batting too has won matches for various teams he has played for over the years. However, his fielding has never been a talking point, and he is rarely spotted at hotspots on the field. In the 15th match of CPL 2024 though, he came up with a fantastic effort to catch a ball which also impressed his teammates Kieron Pollard and Jayden Seales.
Narine is playing for Trinbago Knight Riders and they are up against Barbados Royals in the 15th game. In the fourth over of the game, Jayden Seales bowled a short-of-a-length delivery and Clarke pulled it. He did not time it well and the ball went aerially towards the mid-wicket region. Narine jumped up and tried to catch it with a left hand, but the ball just did not stick and it ended up being just a single.
It was a tough chance and had Narine taken it, it would have gone down as one of the finest catches of CPL 2024.
Barbados Royals Rocked Early
The drop catch was a big relief for Barbados Royals though who lost two wickets in the very first over and were looking to rebuild. Rivaldo Clarke was promoted up the order after two early wickets and the right-hander gave decent support to Quinton de Kock who played some brilliant shots in the Powerplay.
However, Waqar Salamkheil in his first over, just after the Powerplay cleaned up Quinton de Kock on 39 and provided a crucial breakthrough for his side. This game between Barbados Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders is a big-ticket encounter with both teams boasting of world-class cricketers. At the time of writing, Royals are in a bit of trouble with four wickets down on 54 and it would be interesting to see how they tackle Knight Riders in this game now.
