The second day of the ongoing first Ashes Test between Australia and England saw a dull opening, with Usman Khawaja and David Warner taking almost four overs to score the first run of the day. However, the passionate Edgbaston crowd soon went berserk as experienced English seamer Stuart Broad provided them with jubilance, dismissing Warner for nine in the eleventh over.

Unlike the first day, the ball moved slightly on day 2, with the overcast conditions assisting the English seamers. However, Warner and Khawaja looked unfazed, as they batted with the utmost control in the first few overs.

But skipper Ben Stokes' call to persist with Broad at one end paid rich dividends to England, rewarding them with the prized scalp of Warner. After testing the southpaw with his length balls, Broad delivered a full-length ball wide outside the off stump, which Warner chased only to inside-edge it onto his stumps.

If that wasn't enough, Broad wreaked havoc in the visitors' camp by removing the dependable Marnus Labuschagne in the very next delivery.

Riding on his twin strikes, England have reduced Australia to 41 for two, with Khawaja and Steve Smith batting on 22* and 7*, respectively, at the time of writing.
