The Washington Freedom under the leadership the Aussie maverick, Steve Smith are chasing their maiden MLC Trophy against the San Francisco Unicorns. This match is being played the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA. 

Corey Anderson, the captain of the San Francisco Unicorns won the toss and put the Washington Freedom to bat in the game. Even though wickets fell for the Freedom within the powerplay, they were off to a dynamic star, courtesy of their skipper, Steve Smith. 


Steve Smith plays a a crucial knock in the final

The Australian maverick played a huge role in putting the Washington Freedom in the driver's seat in the game. Despite the early loss of  Travis Head, Smith kept his composure and displayed his class. He played a crucial knock of 88 runs off 52 deliveries and held the ship steady at one end, despite the happenings at the other end. 

Steve Smith was ably supported by the Australian all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell, who scored 40 runs off 22 deliveries. This duo stitched together a partnership of 83 runs from 38 deliveries and ensured that the Freedom posted a formidable total on the board. It was this partnership that played a prime role in the Freedom reaching the massive total of 207/5 in their 20 overs.

Juanoy Drysdale bowls an awkward full toss to Steve Smith


Durning his stay in the middle, Steve Smith  faced a bizarre delivery bowled in the 13th over of the innings. Juanoy Drysdale was bowled a chest high full toss in the fifth delivery of the 13 the over that also went way down the leg side. It was an attempted slower one by the bowler that slipped out of his hands. It was given as a no ball by the umpire, and Glenn Maxwell made the bowler pay of the very next ball. 

The batters changed ends during the previous ball as the keeper failed to collect it. Maxwell faced the free hit and made full use of it. It was an attempted slower delivery by Drysdale which was smashed out of the ground by the Australian superstar with an one handed grip on the bat.
