The ongoing first match of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens has got off to an electrifying start with nail-biting events. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first.

RCB got off to a good start and got Quinton de Kock early on but Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine stitched a brilliant partnership off the 2nd wicket to derail Bengaluru. However, the Men in Red too bounced back as Krunal Pandya got two crucial wickets in the middle overs.

Krunal Tests Iyer With A Bouncer

Pandya first sent skipper Ajinkya Rahane packing who scored a fifty and then got rid of KKR's 23.75 cr buy Venkatesh Iyer by castling his stumps. It was a trap well set up and executed by the left-arm spinner. 

Notably, Pandya came to bowl his 3rd over of the match in the 13th over, following which Iyer removed his helmet. However, the move didn't go well with Krunal as he tested Iyer with a sharp bouncer on the first ball that went for a wide. However, it resulted in the umpire signalling a wide and also instructing Iyer to wear a helmet. 

Meanwhile, Pandya bowled a fuller delivery and castled Iyer's stump on the next ball. Watch the bouncer here. 

Venkatesh Iyer failed to justify his 23.75 crore price tag and immediately became the centre of attraction and a laughing stalk on the internet. Talking about the ongoing match, then KKR are in trouble as KKR are 150/6 after 15.4 overs.
