Kolkata Knight Riders are up against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening game of IPL 2025 and it is turning out to be quite an exciting affair. The match started with Quinton de Kock falling in the opening over, but then Rahane and Sunil Narine counterattacked and brought the home team back on track.

Sunil Narine Falls After A Breezy Knock

Sunil Narine could not get going initially, but then found his groove and quickly brought his innings to the desired position with some big blows. He smashed Suyash Sharma for a six and a four in the 10th over, while in the next over, he took on Rasikh Salam, hitting hit for a four and a six again, entertaining the crowd again after the opening ceremony.

It looked like the Caribbean star will get to his fifty, but Rasikh Salam got his wicket on the final ball of the over. Rasikh Salam bowled it short of good length and Narine tried to smash it away. However, he only managed to get an outside edge and the Jitesh Sharma behind the stumps took an easy catch. Rasikh Salam previously played two games for KKR in IPL 2022, but has not got regular chances in his injury-marred career.

It was a big wicket for RCB, and it showed in the celebration of Rasikh Salam who roared in anger after the wicket. In the next over, Rahane too departed after his fifty, and RCB got back into the game after a century-stand between the KKR captain and  Sunil Narine. KKR are the defending champions as well, and they would be hoping to get a big score and start off the season with a win.
