RCB Women captain and superstar of Indian cricket, Smriti Mandhana, showcased her batting prowess against Gujarat Giants Women in WPL 2024 by smashing a domineering maximum straight over the long-on boundary rope.

Owing to Sophie Molineux and Renuka Singh's brilliance with the ball, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women restricted Gujarat Giants women to a bare minimum total of 107 runs in the first innings.

It seemed an exciting chase until Smriti Mandhana squashed the Giants' hopes of a turnaround with a staggering attack in the powerplay.

Mandhana kicked off the proceedings with a hat trick of fours in the first over. She later capitalized on the momentum and regained her lost rhythm.

Smriti continued the onslaught even after the powerplay, slamming her first maximum of the WPL 2024 season off Lea Tahuhu.

Tahuhu bowled a fuller delivery outside the off-stump line for the final ball of the seventh over. Mandhana read it quickly to shuffle across the line and lofted a commanding six over the long-on boundary rope.

The cracking shot just landed over the boundary cushions, which was enough to award Smriti her first maximum of the season.

That being said, Mandhana's scorching six over mid-on was a testament to her exceptional talent and batting prowess, showcasing her ability to easily dominate the opposition.

Despite the minimal chase, the celebrated Indian batter switched gears to close down the game quickly, which will add to the net run rate on the points table. While she missed out on a well-deserved half-century, her attacking innings was enough to lift RCB to a comprehensive win over Gujarat Giants women.

For Smriti Mandhana, performing in front of the Bengaluru crowd was perennial, as the fans have had her back at all times this year. It was time Smriti put up a powerful show to reciprocate Chinnaswamy's love for the RCB franchise.
