Vaibhav Suryavanshi came into U19 Asia Cup with high expectations after being bought by Rajasthan Royals for 1.10 Crore in IPL 2025 mega auction. However, the 13-year-old failed to live upto his billing against Pakistan and Japan and had to face lot of criticism. His IPL franchise RR too was trolled after his failures, but the left-handed batter roared back in style against UAE, smashing 76 off just 46 balls.

He hit 6 sixes in his knock along with three fours and the innings showed the world that his century against Australia recently was not a fluke. Also, the power-game he displayed speaks a lot about the confidence and skills of the boy. Out of the 6 sixes, initial three sixes came against left-arm spinners. The first six came on the 2nd ball of the second over against Ali Asgar Shums and it was a powerful slog-sweep over deep mid-wicket.

Then against the UAE skipper Aayan Khan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi launched a massive six on the third ball of his second over by dancing down the track with great swagger. The next ball was a dot, but the fifth ball was again sent over the deep mid-wicket region for a massive six, signalling to the cricket world that he is a talent to watch out for.

Along with Vaibhav, Ayush Mhatre hit his second consecutive fifty and stayed unbeaten on 67 off 51 balls as the duo took India to a thumping win by 10 wickets in just the 17th over of the innings. The win has taken India to the semis of the U19 Asia Cup 2024.
