The Indian men's team is currently in Australia for the five-match Test series, while the women's team is also now set for a crucial three-match ODI series against the Aussies. The first ODI will be at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, and the visitors would be looking to showcase their skills and start of the series with a bang.
The team management have taken a tough call to drop out-of-form Shafali Verma while Yastika Bhatia is ruled out due to injury. So, there is an opening at the top of the order and Priya Punia is likely to take the slot at the top of the order alongside Smriti Mandhana. The Delhi batter who went unsold in WPL 2024 has been around for a long time, but has not been able to seal her spot and it is time for her to get her act together.
India Likely To Go With Radha Yadav As Frontline Spinner
Young yet experienced Jemimah Rodrigues is likely to bat at three while Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh would provide fire-power in the middle order. Tejal Hasabnis is likely to retain her spot after a good performance against the Kiwis recently while Deepti Sharma as always will be a crucial asset with her all-round skills.
Radha Yadav will be the lone-frontline spinner, and her electric fielding skills along with her handy batting will play a vital role. The three seamers will be Renuka Singh, Arundhati Reddy and Titas Sadhu. The pitch expected to provide good bounce and seam movement, so they would have to setup the momentum with the new ball.
