The Trinbago Knight Riders are taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 19th match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Queens Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors were put to bat first after Kieron Pollard, the slipper of the Trinbago Knight Riders, won the toss. The Warriors struggled in the early phase of their innings, losing wickets in a bunch and failing to get any momentum going.

Shepherd-Pretorius took the Warriors to a respectable total

They were struggling at 76/7 in 12 overs when Romario Shepherd and Dwaine Pretorius started to turn the tides for the team.

The duo of Shepherd and Pretorious stitched together an unbeaten partnership of 72 runs and took the total to a respectable 148 at the end of the 20 overs. Shepherd was the prime aggressor in the partnership, as he scored 51* off 24 deliveries.

Even though it was a moderate target for the Knights, they needed a good start from their openers, Sunil Narine and Shaqkere Parris. Narine started the innings in his own trademark style as he slammed a four and a six in the first over but soon fell to Moeen Ali.

Parris showed signs of his Carribean power during his short stay

After Narine's departure, the youngster Parris took the onus on himself to give some momentum to the KKR chase. On the fifth delivery of the third over, Gudakesh Motie bowled a full delivery outside the off stump. Parris got down on one knee and smashed the ball away over deep mid-wicket for a monstrous six. The ball kept sailing away and went over the stadium's roofs. It was later recorded to be a 124-meter six. It is the longest of this season.

Even though Parris looked good in the middle, he failed to convert his start into a big knock. He was dismissed in the ninth over of the innings by CPL debutant Nathan Sowter.

Notably, the record for the longest six in the Indian Premier League is also 124 meters. It was hit by Albie Morkel while playing for Chennai Super Kings against Pragyan Ojha in IPL 2008.
