Rajat Patidar, the swashbuckling right-handed batter is all set to replace Virat Kohli for the first two Tests against England according to a report from Cricbuzz. Virat Kohli earlier had pulled out of the initial two Tests because of personal reasons and Rajat Patidar with twin hundred against England Lions under his belt, was always a front runner.

Rajat Patidar has been in stellar form in domestic cricket for quite a few years now and recently made his ODI debut against South Africa where he opened the innings. He is likely to bat in the middle order if he gets an opportunity against England in Test cricket.

There are other options in contention to replace Kohli with the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane still going strong in domestic cricket. Pujara especially has started the latest edition of the Ranji season with a bang, but it seems that selectors have decided to move on from the veteran.

Sarfaraz Khan is another batter who has scored truckloads of runs in domestic cricket and also scored two fifties against England Lions recently. Patidar though scored centuries in the same games and that according to Cricbuzz, has helped him pipped Sarfaraz Khan for the first two Tests against England.
