Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Punjab Kings, has been in outstanding form this season. In the 13th match of IPL 2025, held at Ekana Stadium against LSG, Iyer showed his finishing skills by hitting a six, channeling his inner MS Dhoni, and scoring another half-century of the season.

Iyer’s excellent leadership helped Punjab Kings secure their second win in a row, chasing down a target of 172 runs in just 16.2 overs. Iyer’s brilliant knock ended with a six, bringing up his half-century off just 30 balls. Alongside him, young batter Nehal Wadhera contributed with 43 runs off 25 balls.
Punjab Kings comfortably won the match by 8 wickets, with Prabhsimran Singh also making a valuable contribution, scoring 69 runs. With two consecutive fifties, Iyer’s leadership has been key in the Kings' back-to-back victories, helping them get off to a strong start in the 18th season of IPL.
Earlier, Punjab Kings chose to bowl first, and their bowlers delivered, restricting LSG to 171/7 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh made an early breakthrough, dismissing Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck in the first over. Aiden Markram showed promise but fell quickly, followed by Rishabh Pant. Nicholas Pooran held his ground but struggled against the new ball.
