The Barbados Royals and the Guyana Amazon Warriors are crossing swords in the 16th match of the CPL 204 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Royals had to bat first after the Warriors won the coin flip.
De Kock powered the Royals to a formidable total
The Royals started with a blitz by Kadeem Alleyne. He provided momentum to the Royals, which allowed Quinton de Kock to settle down and then take the attack on the bowlers. De Kock played a classy knock. The South African opener scored 115 runs off 68 deliveries, which was one of the main reasons the Royals went past the 200 mark. At the end of their 20 overs, the Royals posted 205/6.
Jason Holder's cameo added a boost to the Royals
Alongside de Kock, the West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder played a cameo, scoring 28 runs from 10 balls and helping the team to a formidable total. Although de Kock and Holder made significant contributions, the captain of the Royals, Rovman Powell, failed to impress with the bat. He scored only 7 runs off 7 deliveries.
Powell is an integral part of any batting line-up, he is a part of. Thus, his wicket triggered a unique celebration for Shimron Hetmyer.
Hetmyer shows his dancing skills
Powell was dismissed on the third delivery of the 14th over off Dwaine Pretorius's bowling. It was a length delivery outside the off stump by the South African bowler that Powell tried to muscle over the long-off fence. However, the connection was not proper by him, and the ball did not travel the distance he would have liked.
Shimron Hetmyer, stationed at long-off, caught the ball comfortably and pulled out unique dance moves. The bowler Dwaine Pretorius also joined him in the celebration.
