Shan Masood was announced as Pakistan's Test captain after the 2023 World Cup and after series of losses, he finally managed to win the series as captain on rank-turners against England. He is now leading Pakistan in the two-match series and after failures in three innings, the skipper stepped up and scored 145 to stage a fightback.

Pakistan lost the first Test at SuperSport Park by just two wickets, but were made to follow-on in the second Test after they were bowled out for just 194 in the first innings. Shan Masood and Babar Azam displayed lot of application in the second innings and stitched a 200-run stand.

Babar departed without scoring century, but Masood carried on and looked good for a daddy hundred something which was cut short by Kwena Maphaka in the 84th over.

Pakistan In Trouble After Shan Masood's Loss

It was a good-length delivery, angling into Shan Masood, and the batter failed to defend it as the ball hit him on the pad. A big appeal followed, but the umpire did not give it in the favour of the bowling. Temba Bavuma decided to take the DRS though and the Ball Tracking displayed three reds, and it did not go well with the Pakistan camp.

Masood thought that the impact is outside off and so did his partner Mohammad Rizwan. Masood walked off the field in disbelief and also showed his frustration in the dressing room as well. The coach also did not look happy and both shared some intense talk as Pakistan lost their fifth wicket in the 84th over.

Pakistan are still trailing and are in a danger of losing the game, and need the likes of Rizwan and lower order batters to continue the fight in the remaining part of day 4.
