Brisbane Heat have earned a much needed victory against the Sydney Thunder in the 25th match of the BBL 2024-25. After losing three matches on bounce, this win will help keep themselves alive in the tournament.
The Heat fielded first in the game after winning the toss. The skipper of the Thunder, David Warner laid the foundation of the team with a half-century while opening the innings. After the knock by Warner, a few cameos came in the middle order and as a result, the Thunder were able to go past the 170-mark. At the end of their 20 overs, the Thunder posted 173/8 in their 20 overs.
In the chase, the Brisbane did not get a great start. While the opener Jack Wood failed to provide them with a strong start, Nathan McSweeney also followed him quickly. The right handed batter came to bat at number three but failed to provide the stability that was expected of him.
Dan Christian Brings His Experience To Play Against McSweeney
It was Dan Christian who dismissed McSweeney in the fourth over of the innings. On the last delivery of the over, Christian bowled a fullish delivery at the off and middle stump line. Nathan McSweeney tried to show his innovative side by setting himself for the lap over short fine leg. However he failed to time it correctly and only got an edge to the keeper.
Notably, McSweeney made his debut in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. However, due to the lack of performances from him, the right-handed batter was dropped before the fourth Test . On the other hand, Dan Christian who once represented RCB and is currently aged 41 years picked up the wicket of a current Test player seems to be significant.
