Shami castled Rashid with a ripper [AP]
After recording a fifer against New Zealand in Dharamsala, experienced pacer Mohammed Shami had an exceptional outing in India's sixth World Cup game versus England in Lucknow. The speedster started his onslaught right from the word go, getting rid of Jonny Bairstow and veteran English all-rounder Ben Stokes in quick succession. If that wasn't enough, he came back in the second spell to rattle Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid later, turning the game completely into the hosts' favour.
While Shami's rhythmic bowling was the talk of the town, his lethal inswinger to castle Adil Rashid stole the show.
The incident occurred in the 34th over when England were tottering in the second innings. After conceding a boundary, the seamer bounced back in style, delivering a dream ball that uprooted Rashid's off stump.
It was a length ball that swung slightly into the batter, beating Rashid all ends up and cleaning him up.
Rashid's departure was soon followed by the final wicket of Mark Wood, who was castled by a searing yorker from none other than Jasprit Bumrah. Riding on the exceptional performance from Bumrah and Siraj, India crushed England by 100-run margin to claim the top spot, dethroning South Africa.
