Shakib Al Hasan, the greatest cricketer of Bangladesh, is one of those players who never fail to disappoint in big matches. The veteran all-rounder made headlines again on Friday (September 15) while leading his country in the Asia Cup Super Four clash against India at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

When Rohit Sharma won the toss and put Bangladesh into bat, the Tigers collapsed like a house of cards. After falling to 28/3 and 59/4, Shakib and Towhid Hridoy steadied the ship with sheer resistance.

Before breaking free, Shakib took some time to settle in the middle. He notched his 55th ODI half-century in style, lofting a tossed-up delivery off Axar Patel for a massive six. To reach the landmark, the 36-year-old charged down the track and sent the ball over the deep midwicket.

Two balls later, Shakib almost played the same shot against Axar. Although he did not get close to the ball like last time, it was enough for him to send it over the cow corner after charging down the track.

At the time of writing, Shakib has reached to 77 off 81 balls, while Bangladesh are in control, batting on 151/4 in 31.2 overs.
