Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel won the toss and decided to field first against Bangladesh in St Vincent in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in their vital, final Group D game.

A victory for Bangladesh would earn them the final spot in the Super Eights stage, in Group 1 along with Afghanistan, Australia and India.

In a do-or-die match, Shakib Al Hasan failed to capitalize on his start, and departed after scoring just 17 runs. The crucial moment came in the 11.4 over of the Bangladeshi innings when Shakib faced an lbw decision against Rohit Paudel.

An appeal for lbw was made, and the umpire raised his finger. Shakib reviewed the decision, but it didn't favour him. Rohit Paudel delivered a ball tossed up on a length at the middle and leg stump line, which turned away from the left-hander.

Shakib attempted to turn it to the leg side but missed, and the ball struck his back pad. The UltraEdge showed a flat line when the ball was near the bat, and ball tracking confirmed three reds, that indicated it would have hit the stumps. Consequently, Shakib had to walk back, and Bangladesh landed in deeper trouble.
