Saud Shakeel, one of Pakistan’s leading Test batters, suffered a rare setback in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After an impressive 141 in the first innings, Shakeel was dismissed for a duck in the second innings, marking his first-ever Test duck.

The crucial dismissal occurred in the 27th over of Pakistan’s second innings. Bangladesh’s star all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, delivered a good-length ball that pitched outside the off-stump and skidded through.

Shakeel, anticipating spin, advanced down the pitch and attempted to play the ball with the face of the bat closed. However, the ball went straight through, surprising Shakeel.

Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper, Litton Das, seized the opportunity with swift reflexes. As Shakeel missed the ball, Das collected it cleanly and removed the bails in a flash. Shakeel’s dismissal was a significant blow for Pakistan, leaving the team in a precarious position.

Pakistan trail by 40 runs

Earlier in the match, Pakistan have had already lost Shan Masood for 14 runs and Babar Azam had been dismissed after a fierce delivery from Nahid Rana, who scored 22 runs.

At the time of writing, Pakistan trail by 40 runs, with the team in a precarious position.
