On Tuesday, January 7, Sylhet Strikers locked horns against Fortune Barishal at the Sylhet International Stadium for match 12 of Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25. The hosts were asked to bat first by the Barishal and the decision turned out to be a masterstroke.

Sylhet got off to the worst possible start as the Ariful Haque-led side lost six wickets for 80 runs. Jahandad Khan was the pick of the bowlers as the Pakistani seamer took three wickets for just five runs in his two overs and created an impact. 

Afridi Taken For A Hit By Cornwall

While it has been a day of delight for the bowlers, Shaheen Afridi is having an off day despite a wicket. Notably, Afridi has bowled two overs at the time of writing this article, he has been whacked for 33 runs in his two overs. 

Notably, Afridi gave away 12 runs in his first over when West Indies' Rahkeem Cornwall belted him for three fours in a single over. Meanwhile, Afridi also lost his cool when the fielders were sloppy in the middle, and Shaheen was not happy about it. Shaheen Afridi Takes His Revenge With Cornwall's Wicket

Further, Shaheen lost his cool when veteran Mushfiqur Rahim made a sloppy error and it did not go well with the left-arm seamer. However, Afridi got his revenge in his second over when he got Cornwall out. On the 2nd ball of the 5th over, Afridi sent the West Indies' opener packing.

At the time of writing this article, the Strikers are 101/8 and Rishad Hossain has also taken three wickets.
