Another T20I match and another defeat for the Pakistan team as they now trail 0-2 in the 5-match series. The visitors had an improved batting performance, but this time, the bowlers and the fielders let them down as they allowed the Kiwis to win the contest with utmost ease on Tuesday.
In a match where rain threatened to play spoilsport, Pakistan batted first and scored 135/9 in 15 overs. The target seemed a bit tricky, but the Kiwi openers made a mockery of the total as they added 66 runs in just 5 overs.
Shaheen was taken to the cleaners by the openers and while he was one of the major highlights, there was another player who hogged it, but for wrong reasons as well.
Shadab drops a sitter
Shadab Khan is generally a safe fielder and while he did hang onto a wonderful catch towards the end, the all-rounder also dropped a simple chance which showcased Pakistan's fielding level at the international stage.
In the 13th over bowled by Haris Rauf, Mitchell Hay tried to flick a ball on the leg side, but he got a leading-edge towards the covers. Shadab ran towards his right and got to the ball as he put in a dive and failed to grab the ball despite covering the ground.
However, moments later, he redeemed himself with a stunner, but despite the efforts, Pakistan lost the contest. The target of 136 was overhauled inside 14 overs as the home side won the match and took a 2-0 lead in the series.
