Shaheen Afridi showed his power with the bat in the second T20I against New Zealand on March 18. He hit a massive six off Jimmy Neesham that went out of the ground.

The big hit happened in the 15th over of Pakistan’s innings. On the third ball of the over, Neesham bowled a full delivery outside off stump. Afridi saw his chance and swung his bat like a golfer, sending the ball soaring over the long-on boundary.

The shot was perfect, connecting right from the middle of the bat and traveling an incredible 95 meters. It was such a huge hit that the fourth umpire had to bring out a box of new balls. But after some searching, the original ball was found, and the game continued.

Pakistan Struggle With The Bat Against NZ

Pakistan batted first in a rain-shortened match, where each team got only 15 overs. They struggled to build a strong total and ended up scoring 135/9.

New Zealand bowlers dominated from the start. Pakistan lost their first wicket in the very first over when Hasan Nawaz got out for a duck. Mohammad Haris followed soon after, falling for 11 in the fourth over.

Captain Agha Salman and Irfan Khan Niazi tried to stabilise the innings with a 31-run partnership, but Irfan got out for 11 in the seventh over. Soon after, Khushdil Shah was dismissed for just 2 runs.

Meanwhile, Shadab Khan played some attacking shots, but wickets kept falling. Salman, who looked good with the bat, got out for 46 while trying to pull a short ball. Shadab added some quick runs, scoring 26 off 14 balls, but he was dismissed in the 12th over.

Towards the end, Shaheen Afridi played a crucial cameo, scoring 22 runs off 14 balls. His quick runs helped Pakistan reach 135/9, giving them something to defend.
