Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson had a memorable outing in the ongoing second T20I of the three-match series against Ireland. Coming at number four, the dynamic batter amazed the spectators with his flamboyant stroke play, ensuring a fighting total for India through his sensational 40-run cameo. More importantly, the Kerala-born took on ace Irish pacer Joshua Little, smacking 18 runs off his third over.
After being put into bat, India had a disastrous start to their innings, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma cheaply in quick succession. However, Samson started scoring briskly as soon as he joined Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle.
When Joshua Little came back into the attack to bowl the eleventh over, Samson decided to break the shackles and unleash his beast mode on the Irish star.
After smashing consecutive fours in the first three deliveries, the swashbuckling batter dispatched the fifth ball into the stands, collecting 18 runs off the over in this process.

However, he couldn't convert his blistering start to a fifty, being dismissed by Ireland's wily leg spinner Ben White in the thirteenth over. However, his breathtaking cameo was sufficient to ensure a respectable total for India despite a shaky start.
As of writing, the visitors are 144 for four in 18 overs, with Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube batting on 15* and 6*, respectively.
