Yusuf Pathan in action [Twitter]
Former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan grabbed the limelight on Saturday, showcasing his incredible all-round attributes in the US Masters T10 league. Pathan, who represents New Jersey Legends in the tournament, proved to be as a priceless asset for his side, slamming a quick-fire 41-run cameo and scalping two wickets with the ball.
Pathan came to bat when his side was reeling at 25 for two in 3.4 overs after being put into bat first. After spending some time in the middle, the legendary ex-KKR player tore apart the Morrisville Unity's bowling into pieces through belligerent hitting.
The swashbuckling right-handed batter didn't spare anyone and hammered two boundaries and three huge sixes on his way through to an explosive 21-ball 41*. He remained unbeaten and helped his side post a challenging 95-run total in ten overs.
As if it was not enough, the veteran cricketer troubled the Morrisville batters with his guile, scalping two wickets through an impressive spell of spin bowling. After dismissing his former national colleague Parthiv Patel in the first over, the tweaker got rid of Shehan Jayasuriya in the third over.
However, Pathan's valiant all-round efforts went in vain, as New Jersey were handed a six-wicket defeat by Morrisville, courtesy of a sensational 33-run cameo from Obus Pienaar. Up next, they will take on New York Warriors in the ninth match of the tournament tonight.
