Pakistan's premier spinner Sajid Khan had a memorable outing in the first Test against West Indies, as he rattled the visitors with a magnificent opening spell in the second innings. After dismissing Kraigg Brathwaite and Keacy Carty, Sajid bowled a tremendous delivery to castle Kaven Hodge.
The incident occurred during the eleventh over of West Indies' second innings when Hodge was trying to steady the ship with Mikyle Louis following early dismissals of Brathwaite and Carty. After conceding a solitary run off his first four balls, Sajid bowled an outstanding delivery, bamboozling Hodge at a crucial juncture of the game.
From over the wicket, Sajid Khan tossed the ball up, inviting Hodge to come forward. As the right-handed batter tried to play a defensive shot, the ball spun sharply, breaching his defence and uprooting his stumps.
This was Sajid's third wicket, and he went on to get rid of Louis in his next over. As a result, West Indies lost five wickets before lunch was taken on day three.
Pakistan Set 251-Run Target, WI Lose 5 Quick Wickets
Earlier, riding on Jomel Warrican's magnificent spell, West Indies restricted Pakistan to a paltry total of 157 runs in the second innings. Warrican bagged seven wickets, breaking the legendary Malcolm Marshall's massive record for the best bowling figures in Tests in Pakistan. However, Sajid Khan wreaked havoc in the visitors' camp, reducing them to 54 for five before the lunch break.
