Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's reliable wicketkeeper-batter, has been in excellent form recently, often delivering match-winning performances. However, in the ongoing first Test against the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium, Rizwan couldn’t live up to expectations in Pakistan’s second innings.

Rizwan began the match with a solid contribution, scoring 71 runs in Pakistan’s first innings. This effort helped Pakistan build a strong foundation and take a significant lead of 93 runs. However, his second innings didn’t unfold the way fans had hoped.

Saud Shakeel Departs Cheaply

By the end of Day 2, Pakistan have had extended their lead to 203 runs. Shan Masood stood out with a gritty half-century before falling late in the day. Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel resumed batting duties as the team looked to strengthen their position further.

The morning of Day 3 began on a shaky note for Pakistan. Saud Shakeel, who had just added 2 runs, was dismissed in the very first over. This brought Mohammad Rizwan to the crease, with hopes pinned on him to stabilise the innings.

Jomel Warrican Gets Rid Of Rizwan

However, Rizwan’s stay at the crease was short-lived. Facing West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican, who has been in excellent form, Rizwan fell in the 34th over. Warrican bowled a beauty—a back-of-a-length delivery that turned just enough to square Rizwan up. The Pakistani batter edged the ball to first slip, where Hodge took a sharp catch. Rizwan walked back to the pavilion after scoring just 2 runs off 6 deliveries.

Jomel Warrican’s spell was instrumental for the West Indies, as he claimed his fourth wicket of the innings with Rizwan's dismissal. At that point, Pakistan had lost half their side for just 113 runs.

At the time of writing, Pakistan leads by 224 runs, with Agha Salman and Kamran Ghulam at the crease.
