In a remarkable achievement, West Indies' premier spin bowler Jomel Warrican broke Malcolm Marshall's massive record, scripting history with a clinical spell in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan at Multan Cricket Stadium. Warrican exhibited commendable skills, dismantling Pakistan with a magnificent seven-wicket haul in the second innings.

Jomel Warrican Breaks Malcolm Marshall's Record With Excellent Spell

Known for his wily variations, Jomel Warrican starred with the ball in the first innings, scalping three wickets. He was even more successful with the ball in the second innings, capitalising on Multan's spin-friendly track.

Warrican, who bagged the crucial wickets of Mohammad Huraira and Babar Azam on day two, dismantled Pakistan's batting unit, dismissing Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan. He further went on to get rid of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, completing a memorable seven-wicket haul in this process.

Thus, the left-arm spinner broke the legendary Malcolm Marshall's record, registering the best bowling figure by a West Indies bowler in Tests on Pakistani soil.

Meanwhile, chasing 251, West Indies had the worst possible start, losing Kraigg Brathwaite and Keacy Carty cheaply. Sajid Khan once again emerged as West Indies' nemesis, dismissing both these batters in quick succession. As of writing, the visitors were 30 for two, with Mikyle Louis and Kavem Hodge batting on 10* and 0*, respectively.
