Sachin Tendulkar thwacked Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar with a crunching pull shot for a six during their rare faceoff in a celebrity game.


Sachin Tendulkar bosses ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar

Sachin Tendulkar had an eventful evening in Thane on the opening day of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) on March 6, where his Master XI team went up against Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi XI to kickstart the tournament.

Leading Master XI in Thane for a celebrity ISPL game, Tendulkar cracked a crunching pull shot against his Khiladi XI counterpart Akshay Kumar for a huge six in the very first over of the match.

The ball soared over the deep mid-wicket boundary, as the evergreen ‘Master Blaster’ gained early advantage over the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood.

Sachin Tendulkar ended up listing 30 runs off just 17 balls until he was dismissed by Khiladi XI bowler and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui. 

Following Tendulkar’s dismissal, his former national teammate Yusuf Pathan also blasted a 10-ball 21 before Stuart Binny’s eight-ball 18* took Master XI to a competitive 95-7 by the completion of their 10 overs.

The total turned out to be a match-winning for the Master XI, with Munaf Patel’s three-wicket haul ensuring that Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi XI fell five runs short of their target.
