Young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma recorded a rare failure as he was dismissed for three runs in the all-important Qualifier 1 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Opening the batting alongside Travis Head, Abhishek couldn't make much impact tonight, with Andre Russell's flying catch led to his departure.

The incident occurred during the second over of SRH's innings just when they had lost Head to a menacing delivery from Mitchell Starc

Bowling his first over of the day, Vaibhav Arora kept things tight, conceding only five runs off his first four deliveries.

Coming to bowl his fifth delivery, the right-arm seamer bowled a full length delivery outside the off stump as Sharma struck it in the air in a bid to clear the in-field.

However, he couldn't go past Andre Russell, who timed his jump perfectly to grab a sensational catch.

Notably, Sharma's wicket was significantly important for KKR as the swashbuckling southpaw hammered a blistering fifty in the last match against Punjab Kings.

After his departure, in-form batter Nitish Kumar Reddy joined Rahul Tripathi in the middle. As of writing, the Sunrisers were 33 for two, with Reddy and Tripathi batting on 4* and 22*, respectively.
