Jos Buttler Out, Moeen Ali To Bring In 'This' Player? England's Probable XI For 1st T20I vs PAK
Jos Buttler is likely to miss a few games (X.com)
England will go up against Pakistan in the 1st T20I of the upcoming four-match series at Headingley, Leeds.
But a potential disadvantage looms at large for the home team as if reports are to be believed, England's white-ball skipper, Jos Buttler is likely to be given break from the upcoming Pakistan Tour of England since his wife Louise, is expecting their third child.
Buttler has had a phenomenal IPL season, he amassed 359 runs with a strike rate of 140.78 including two centuries as well. However, him along with other ENG players had to leave IPL 2024 mid-way to travel back home to fulfill their national duties.
If this report holds any substance, England is likely to bring in their stand-by opener, Ben Duckett in his place and Moeen Ali will be taking over the leadership role. Apart from that they would look to strengthen their middle-order with the explosive batting of Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook.
On the bowling front, the three lions look a tough pack to reckon with, with the likes of Sam Curran, Reece Topley along with Adil Rashid. Moreover, now that both Jofra Archer and Mark Wood are fit, it is highly unlikely that both would play together. However, if they do then Chris Jordan would be missing out. But if they decide to play just one out of the two in tis game, it would probably be Mark Wood.
Let's take a look at ENG's probable XI for their first game against Pakistan.
ENG vs PAK: Probable XI For 1st T20I
Ben Duckett, Phil Salt (WK), Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer/Mark Wood (whoever is fit), Reece Topley, Adil Rashid , Chris Jordan
