Pakistan Squad For NZ T20Is Set To Be Announced On Tuesday; Big Names To Be Rested

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee is set to announce Pakistan’s squad for their upcoming T20I series against New Zealand on Tuesday, April 9.

On April 8, the selection committee caught up with Pakistan players who featured in their recent Kakul training camp. The entire playing group, barring Mohammad Rizwan, along with the PCB officials organized their meeting at a local hotel in Islamabad.

Pakistan’s upcoming home T20I series against New Zealand serves as a testing ground for their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations.

PCB to announce Pakistan T20I squad on April 9

The active selection committee comprises of former Pakistan cricketers like Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz among others.

During their meet-up with Pakistan players, they discussed several policies involving team selection and rotation in order to create fresh opportunities for the youngsters.

Another major announcement confirmed during the meeting was the date for the impending reveal of Pakistan’s T20I squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. The squad is set to be announced on Tuesday, April 9; i.e., a couple of days after the conclusion of Pakistan’s physical fitness camp and nine days prior to the series opener.

The New Zealand cricket team will be setting base in Pakistan on April 14. The five-match series will commence from April 18 onwards and will conclude on April 27. The first three matches are set to be staged at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium before the action will shift to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
