[Watch] Rohit Sharma’s 'Superman-Esque' Jump For One-Handed Blinder Goes In Vain

There has been plenty of criticism of Rohit Sharma’s fitness and athleticism all across the world of cricket. However, the veteran almost silenced the critics with a spectacular effort on Thursday (January 11), but failed to make that happen in an unfortunate way.

The incident happened during the 12th over of Afghanistan’s innings during their first T20I against India. Shivam Dube, who got a wicket in his first over, was bowling at Azmatullah Omarzai, and the Afghanistan all-rounder went for an aerial drive over the cover region.

Placed at short cover, Rohit timed his jump in perfection while extending one arm. However, he failed to keep the ball in hand, as the pace of the shot took it away from his grab.

Needless to say, had it remained in Rohit's hand, it would have been one of the best catches of this year.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan are looking for a strong finish, having reached 143/5 at the end of 19 overs. Arshdeep Singh, who conceded 13 off his first three overs and did not get any success, came to finish things off.
