After missing the Perth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Series, Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma marked a dramatic entry during the pink ball practice match between India and Australia Prime Minister's XI. As Rohit walked to bat in the Manuka Oval Stadium in Canberra, the crowd erupted in loud chants to welcome the captain in style.

India are leading the 5-game Border-Gavaskar Series 1-0 after winning the opening game at Perth by 295 runs. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma was absent as he stayed back in India with family to welcome his second child.

However, ahead of the pink ball Test scheduled in Adelaide Oval for December 6, Rohit Sharma rejoined the team. He is leading the practice game against the Prime Minister's XI team currently underway in Canberra.

India had opted to field first and restricted the opposition to 240/10. Harshit Rana stood out with a 4-wicket-haul, with Akash Deep also chipping 2 wickets. Meanwhile, in the second innings, KL Rahul retired after scoring 27 off 44 balls to pave the way for Indian captain Rohit Sharma. With the warm-up match only 2 days long, time was running out, and Rohit desperately needed some time at the crease.

As Rohit Sharma walked out, he received a grand reception from the crowd gathered at Manuka Oval Stadium in Canberra. Rohit had a chat with Rahul before reaching the crease, and the crowd was absolutely buzzing with excitement to see the captain back in action.

However, Rohit's comeback was short lived as he was dismissed off just 3 runs off 11 balls by Charlie Anderson. Regardless, the sight of Rohit in white in Australia was refreshing for the fans as they hope to witness his masterclass in Adelaide soon.
