Agha Salman takes Tristan Stubbs' wicket (Source: @Jiocinema)
Salman Agha made headlines on Tuesday while playing for Pakistan in the first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa, taking place at Boland Park, Paarl. The 31-year-old shone with the ball, taking four wickets inside his first four overs to leave the hosts in complete disbelief.
Rizwan's Gamble To Bring Salman Early Pays Off
It was a brilliant decision by Mohammad Rizwan to bring Agha Salman early in the attack after South Africa openers Tony de Zorzi and Ryan Rickelton gave them a solid start. Having lost the toss, Rizwan had to do something special to get the breakthrough, and it was Salman Agha who stepped up for the captain.
While Salman was unstoppable throughout his spell, the manner in which he castled Tristan Stubbs grabbed a lot of attention. Even Rizwan enjoyed the way Stubbs was bamboozled, and he expressed his joy by throwing the stump in the air.
South Africa 100 Up After 16.4 Overs
However, South Africa's run rate is still a very decent at the time of writing this. They are 100 up in 16.4 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen and skipper Aiden Markram in the middle. The Proteas would love to keep the duo going strong, with Marco Jansen and Andile Phehlukwayo being the only players who can actually bat.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are still wicketless, and would love to stump their authority after a disappointing loss in the T20I series.
