Desert Vipers are soaring high in the International League T20 2025, and Wednesday’s match against Sharjah Warriorz in Dubai was no different. While Mohammad Amir’s sensational four-fer grabbed headlines, it was Wanindu Hasaranga’s magical delivery that truly stole the show.

Hasaranga Spins a Beauty To Dismiss Luke Well

The Sri Lankan leg-spinner produced a peach of a ball that had cricket lovers buzzing. Hasaranga’s first wicket in the game was a moment of pure magic. On the third ball of the seventh over, Hasaranga tossed one up on middle and leg.

The delivery had everything—flight, drift, and just enough turn to leave Luke Wells clueless. Wells, attempting a push with minimal foot movement, left a small bat-pad gap, and that’s all Hasaranga needed.

The ball spun sharply, sneaked through the gate, and kissed the leg-stump. Wells was sent packing for 11 off 10, and Hasaranga had a wicket to make any leg-spinner beam with pride. The ball was an absolute gem, the kind of delivery kids dream of bowling when they pick up a cricket ball for the first time.

Hasaranga Runs Riot

But Hasaranga didn’t stop there. He went on to torment the Sharjah Warriorz batters with his brilliance, finishing with sensational figures of 3/10 in four overs. Every ball he bowled seemed to have a plan, and every batter looked like they were second-guessing themselves. Hasaranga turned the screws on Sharjah, leaving them in tatters as they folded for a mere 91.

Fakhar Zaman Makes Light Work of the Chase

If Sharjah thought they had a glimmer of hope defending 91, Fakhar Zaman had other plans. The southpaw came out with all guns blazing as he smoked his way to a blistering 71 off just 39 balls. With seven fours and four sixes, Fakhar made the chase look like a walk in the park. Alex Hales chipped in with a steady 23 off 21, as the Vipers hunted down the target in just 10 overs.

Vipers Soar To The Top

With their dominant victory, Desert Vipers cemented their spot at the top of the points table. Amir’s fiery spell, Hasaranga’s wizardry, and Fakhar’s fireworks made this a complete team performance.
