Riyan Parag is known for his immense talent with the bat and has been a regular in India's white-ball squads after the T20 World Cup 2024. In the T20I series against Bangladesh, he did not get to bat in the first T20I and also got a chance only at the death in the second game. He scored 15 off just six balls and captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to give him a go with the ball as well.
Riyan Parag bowled two overs for 16 runs and picked up a big wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. However, it was not the wicket but a delivery he bowled to Mahmudullah in the 11th over that caught the eye of everyone. Parag generally bowls off-breaks, but on the fourth delivery of that over he went wide of the crease and bowled a fullish delivery outside off with a slingy action. It was quite a funny action and in the process he end up going way too wide, and it was called a no-ball.
Nitish Reddy Stars In India's Dominating Win
The delivery surprised everyone on the field, including the umpires and Riyan Parag made sure that he comes up with serious returns in the same over by bagging the wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh eventually ended up with a score of 135 on the board in their 20 overs and lost the game by 86 runs.
Earlier, India scored 221 on the board while batting first and it was Nitish Reddy who top-scored with brilliant 74 after India lost two early wickets. Rinku Singh also scored fifty and with the ball too Nitish Reddy picked two wickets and displayed his class as a genuine all-rounder.
