Harry Brook, the charismatic young cricketer from England has grown from strength to strength in international cricket in the last couple of years. He is growing in stature in world cricket and now has added another glorious chapter in his career by hitting his maiden Test double century against Pakistan in Multan.

Earlier, Joe Root also scored his double century and it is just the second instance where two English batters have scored a double century in the same innings of a Test match. The duo has notched up a stand of over 400 runs and England have taken a lead in this opening Test even after Pakistan posted 556 in their first innings.

Harry Brook And Joe Root Take England To A Strong Position

Harry Brook walked out to the middle with England at 249-3. He was expected to carry the momentum forward on a flat deck and he did exactly that as he started playing his shots right from the onset. He kept the scoreboard ticking and eventually got to his fourth Test century against Pakistan in just his sixth innings against the Asian side. However, he did not relax just after his century and has taken full advantage of flat pitch in Multan.

Pakistan bowlers tried everything they could do. However, Brook and Root have stood tall and at Lunch on Day 4, England have 658 on the board with a loss of just three wickets. The lead for England is 102 and Root is closing in on his triple century as well. England are also expected to up the ante in the afternoon session and declare, to give themselves a chance to win the Test match that seems to be heading towards a draw.
