In the ongoing first Test between England and Pakistan at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Joe Root and Harry Brook have entered the history books as they stitched the highest-ever partnership for England for any wicket in Test cricket.
At the time of writing this article, Root and Brook have stitched an unbeaten 412-run stand for the 4th wicket. They went past Peter May and Colin Cowdrew's record of 411-run stand that the duo stitched against West Indies in 1957.
Brook came to bat when Joe Root was stranded at one end, and England were 249/3. The two have been batting since day 3, and look unstoppable. Root is eyeing his triple hundred as he is batting on 259 (368), which featured 17 fours. Talking about Brook, he smashed his maiden Test double hundred and is unbeaten on 218 (261), which featured 20 fours and one six.
