India's star batter Rohit Sharma had a tough time against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 13th match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the newly constructed venue Nassau County Stadium on June 9.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. India opened with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who started off well. However, rain halted play, causing a pause in the match.

Later, when the game resumed, the Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli fell victim to Naseem Shah, and then it was Rohit Sharma's turn to be dismissed after scoring 12 runs by the Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi.

The pivotal moment came in the 3rd over of the match when Shaheen bowled his second over and struck on the 4th ball, claiming the big wicket of the match. It was an inswinger on a good length on the pads, at a speed of 139.9 km/h.

The batter whipped the ball into the leg side but didn't get the middle of the bat, resulting in a fine catch by Haris Rauf, stationed at deep square leg, who moved to his left.

India found themselves in a terrible situation after losing their powerful openers, struggling at 35 for 2 in 5 overs, with Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant at the crease.
